Remnants of that lifestyle can still be glimpsed here, although the younger generations are fast adapting to modern ways. Even today the primary source of livelihood of continues to be farming and cattle rearing. The houses have artistic mud plastered homes decorated with motifs from nature. A big predator on the move makes animals like deer and monkeys sound a warning, resulting in the jungle resounding with various alarm calls. These calls are then used by the naturalist to anticipate movements of the predator. You are encouraged to identify melodious bird song, like those of the Asian Koel, Magpie Robin and the Coppersmith Barbet.
